Free SEO Spider Review
Free SEO Spider is a program you install locally on a PC, Mac or Linux machine that scans websites for links, images, CSS, script and apps from an SEO perspective. It fetches key onsite SEO components and permits you to view, analyse or filter them as they're collected and updated continuously in the program's user interface.
The program is well-suited to a wide range of users, from SEO agencies and bloggers to web developers and reviewers. Its clear layout makes it easy to use, although some of the functionality may be a bit overwhelming for those with little experience in SEO analysis.
In addition to checking for broken links, SEO Spider also audits site architecture and identifies duplicate page content. It can identify pages that are too long or too short in their meta descriptions, identify redirect chains and loops, check for hreflang attributes and find pages buried deep on the website. The program can even find meta tags that aren't displayed on the page using CSS Path or XPath and collect data that is hidden by a URL via CSS Float or JS Objects.
Although it's a fairly expensive option compared to some competitors, SEO Spider does have a free version that offers around half of the capabilities of the full program. It is also a desktop program, which means that it will run on most computers rather than requiring a web browser. The free version has a limit of 500 crawls, which is likely to be sufficient for most users.
